Getting Started

What is Mission Control?

Mission Control is a desktop app that gives you a visual dashboard for your OpenClaw AI agent. It provides real-time monitoring of agent status, heartbeat, and latency, automatic cost throttling that switches to budget AI models when spending limits are exceeded, pipeline job tracking with per-step cost breakdown, and one-click switching between Performance, Standard, and Budget modes. Windows is available now, with macOS coming shortly after launch.

Do I need to install Node.js or use the terminal?

No. Mission Control is a standalone desktop app. Download the installer for your platform, run it, and you're ready to go. No terminal, no Node.js, no command-line setup required.

What platforms are supported?

Windows 10 and later is available now through the NSIS installer. macOS 12 and later for Intel and Apple Silicon is planned shortly after launch.

How do I connect to my OpenClaw instance?

Open the app and the setup wizard will guide you through connecting. Enter your OpenClaw URL and setup password, and Mission Control will establish a direct connection to your server. The wizard validates the connection before saving.

Features & Usage

How does auto-throttle save me money?

You set a daily spend limit (e.g., $5/day). When your OpenRouter spend approaches that limit, Mission Control automatically switches your OpenClaw agent to cheaper models. This typically saves users around $48 per week while the same workload continues to run.

Can I connect multiple OpenClaw instances?

The Personal plan supports 1 instance. Pro and Team support unlimited instances. Pro adds workflow builder, direct agent chat, alerts, and exports, while Team adds team management and role-based access.

What AI models does auto-throttle switch to?

Budget mode typically uses DeepSeek V3 at $0.20 per million tokens instead of more expensive models like Claude Sonnet at $3 per million tokens. You can configure which models are used for each mode in the settings.

Can I import my OpenRouter billing data?

Yes. Mission Control supports CSV import from OpenRouter for historical cost analytics. This lets you see spending trends, identify expensive operations, and set more accurate budget limits.

Pricing & Licensing

How much does Mission Control cost?

Mission Control is a one-time purchase. Personal is $9.99, Pro is $29.99, and Team is $79.99. All plans include 1 year of updates. No subscriptions, no recurring fees.

How does activation work?

Download the app, complete checkout for the plan you want, and use the license key shown on the success page or sent by email to activate Mission Control inside the desktop app.

Do you offer refunds?

Yes. Mission Control has a 14-day manual refund window. Email support with the purchase email and your order details and we will process the refund to the original payment method.

What happens after my update year expires?

The app keeps working forever -- you own it. You just stop receiving new feature updates after the first year. You can renew for $19 per year anytime to get back on the latest version.

Can I use my license on multiple computers?

It depends on your plan. Personal allows 1 machine, Pro allows up to 3 machines, and Team allows up to 10 machines.

Security & Privacy

Is my OpenClaw data secure?

Yes. Mission Control runs entirely on your local machine. Your credentials are stored locally and the app connects directly to your OpenClaw server. No data passes through third-party servers.

Does Mission Control send data to third parties?

No. All data stays on your machine. Mission Control connects directly to your OpenClaw instance and does not send telemetry, analytics, or any other data to external services.

Comparisons

How does Mission Control compare to Langfuse or Helicone?

Unlike cloud-based observability tools like Langfuse and Helicone, Mission Control is a local desktop app where no data leaves your machine. It also goes beyond monitoring -- it can actively control your OpenClaw agent by switching AI models, setting budget limits, and auto-throttling costs. Cloud tools typically require code integration and charge based on usage volume.

Does Mission Control work with OpenRouter?

Yes. Mission Control tracks your OpenRouter credits and spending in real time. When your daily spend approaches your budget limit, it can automatically switch your OpenClaw agent to cheaper models. You can also import OpenRouter CSV billing data for detailed cost analytics.

Why not just use the OpenRouter dashboard?

The OpenRouter dashboard shows your credit balance and usage history, but it cannot switch models automatically, set spend alerts, or auto-throttle your agent when costs get too high. Mission Control adds active cost controls on top of passive monitoring.
